We wondered if Albert Okwuegbunam's recent release meant the Philadelphia Eagles' TE1 was nearing a return. Good news comes on Wednesday folks! At the time of this story's write-up and release, Dallas Goedert has returned to the NovaCare Complex's practice field.
Head coach Nick Sirianni, as always, was vague when asked if Number 88 was close to returning, stating as he always does that we'll get an injury report sometime Wednesday afternoon.
It's Cowboys Week, and that appears to have fired everyone up. Dallas may be banged up, but this is a rivalry game where records often don't matter.
It will be nice to have all hands on deck (or as many as possible). Having one of the best young tight ends in the field would certainly pay dividends. Goedert hasn't practiced since exiting Week 6's game vs. the Cleveland Browns with a hamstring injury.
Oh, and the news gets better. Two other starters are back at practice as well.
A.J. Brown and Darius Slay, like Goedert, return to Eagles practice on Wednesday.
Darius Slay was ruled out two days before kickoff of the Eagles' most recent tussle, one vs. the Jacksonville jaguars. A.J. Brown limped off of during the contest.
They, like Goedert, returned to work on
Need more? We've got you covered. A.J. Brown's knee looks just fine and sturdy.
Jalen Hurts sat out of individual drills at the beginning of practice. He made his way onto the field late and watched the other QBs throw routes on air. It's worth noting the Birds have a short week after they play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and DeVonta Smith sat out of the workout session which leads us to believe it's a rest day of sorts for both.
Here's where we'll leave this for now. After seeing Grant Calcaterra get so many targets in the passing game during Dallas Goedert's absence, we'd like to see an equal attempt to get Dallas involved in the action once he's medically cleared to get back on the field during games that count toward the win-loss total.
Check back. We'll add Wednesday's injury report once it's available.
