It's always fun to see bad things happen to the Dallas Cowboys, and the NFL schedule makers didn't disappoint. This, of course, is music to Philadelphia Eagles fans' ears, especially with this particular scheduling mishap coming so late in the year.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated discussed in his latest column how several teams had to play three games in an 11-day span late during the 2024 regular season and he wondered if this would happen to anyone in 2025. The one team that it happened to this year, you ask? Well, that would be the Cowboys.
"The Cowboys have a Monday-Sunday-Thursday turn ahead of Thanksgiving. But only the first of those games is away—a Monday nighter at Vegas—and there’s a bye week before that stretch."
Cowboys got screwed by NFL schedule makers and Eagles fans are loving it
The one team to get a tough slate of games in a short amount of time was the Cowboys and this gauntlet begins on Monday, November 17 when they play the Raiders in Las Vegas. Six days later, they host the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Sunday, November 23 and then four days later, they host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving, which is on Thursday, November 27.

While some teams had it much tougher a season ago with their three-game, 11-day slate, playing that many games in a short amount of time is tough no matter the circumstances. Sure, the Cowboys get two of those games at home, and they'll be coming off a bye as they enter the gauntlet, but football is a brutal sport, and this is going to wear the Cowboys down, or at least that's what Eagles fans are hoping for.
When it comes to the NFC East and how much tougher it looks this year with the rise of the Commanders, the Eagles will take any advantage they can get. Thanks for this one, NFL schedule makers!
