Maybe he can get it done.

Reinforcement is desperately needed on offense for the Philadelphia Eagles after the mess that has ensued for the team.

This season, under Kevin Patullo as offensive coordinator, the Eagles rank 24th in the NFL in total offense with 303.6 yards per game, 23rd in passing with 193.2, and 21st in rushing offense in the league with 110.5 yards per game. These types of numbers are unprecedented for Philly, which has been known as a top-five rushing attack every season.

Many have suggested that it might be time for the Eagles to move on from Patullo as play caller, but head coach Nick Sirianni has already shut that down. So, that leaves the next option: bring in an offensive consultant.

Some have suggested that Brian Daboll, after the New York Giants fired him, might be a good option to help out. There's one, though, that makes all the sense in the world.

Doug Pederson, you free to chat and help the Eagles?

Former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson had quite the run with the team in his five years. The team went 42-37-1 in that span with a Super Bowl victory to show for it.

Pederson coached some pretty good offenses in Philly, including three top 15 finishes in total offense in five years. He helped make Carson Wentz into an MVP candidate in 2017 and Nick Foles into a Super Bowl MVP.

One other note about Pederson, he knows Jalen Hurts pretty well since he and general manager Howie Roseman selected him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. They only got one season together, but Pederson knows Hurts well and helped in his early development as a quarterback.

Will Pederson come in and solve all their problems right away? No, but he can go in and tell Patullo what the problem is and work with him on a solution. Eagles fans might have their opinions on Pederson as a head coach, but he knows offense and literally can get this unit going in the right direction.
