There are a lot of feelings among the Philadelphia Eagles fan base about offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after the rough season the offense has had.

The unit has taken a nosedive in the rankings, with total offense, passing, rushing, and points all ranking no higher than 18th in the NFL. Many fingers have pointed towards either Patullo's predictable play calling or the inability to get into the flow of a game.

Eagles fans aren't going to feel great regardless of their current playoff run as the team is set to play the San Francisco 49ers, according to the latest comments made by NFL insider Mike Garafolo. While appearing on "The Anthony Gargano Show," Garafolo responded to a question about recently fired head coach Mike McDaniel potentially being the Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2026, and gave an uneasy answer for fans to hear.

"Nick is loyal to Kevin. Now, we've seen where the owner has put head coaches in the crosshairs there before saying we need a new offensive coordinator and then the head coach saying no and then what happens? We're talking about the Doug (Pederson) situation before. I think that only is a conversation truly if they get bounced this week. If they make it to the Divisional round, I think there's continuity there."

Eagles fans aren't ready to hear the truth about Kevin Patullo

While this is literally the worst thing Eagles fans can hear, there is a lot of truth to it. Everyone knows that Sirianni and Patullo are friends, and the likelihood of a change being made is getting tougher by the week.

Sirianni and Patullo's relationship dates back to their days with the Indianapolis Colts, when the two were together on the offensive coaching staff. Patullo followed Sirianni to Philadelphia, first serving as the pass game coordinator before being promoted to associate head coach and eventually offensive coordinator.

Depending on how the season ends, this could be a situation where Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie and general manager Howie Roseman might have to have a behind-closed-doors conversation with Sirianni similar to what happened in 2024. Then, Sirianni had to fire offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and defensive coordinator Sean Desai after a poor end to the season, where they lost six of their last seven games.

Everyone feels for Patullo, as he has taken a ton of criticism throughout the season, to the point where some fans felt it was okay to egg his house, which should never have happened. Unfortunately, in a results-based job, Patullo has now coached the league's worst offense in the Sirianni era and one of the franchise's worst in the last 20 years.

At some point, Sirianni might have to realize that Patullo isn't the right man for the job and needs to find a more experienced play caller to run this talented offense. It does leave Eagles fans with the reality that the only way a change will happen is if they lose to the 49ers. Otherwise, it's another season of Patullo ball.
