Just when it looked like the Philadelphia Eagles could not have looked worse on offense after the last month had been as pathetic as possible, the Los Angeles Chargers managed to make Jalen Hurts revert to a state he hasn't been in for the last few years.

Hurts threw a terrible interception right to defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand, but Philly was able to get the ball back after backup running back Will Shipley forced a fumble. Rather than do anything with that second lease on life, Hurts managed to somehow turn it over twice on the same play.

Hurts was knocked around by Chargers nose tackle Jamaree Caldwell, which led to another fumble that Los Angeles recovered. In the span of one play, we saw three turnovers, two of which are a direct responsibility of Hurts.

The Chargers managed to tack on a Cameron Dicker that made the game 10-3 in the second quarter. Even though a second Hurts interception didn't lead to any points after Justin Herbert lost the ball with a sack and fumble, that doesn't negate the fact that Hurts has played his worst half of the season.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts will get fans upset after mind-numbing turnovers vs. Chargers on MNF

Hurts, who is normally one of the more turnover-averse quarterbacks in the NFL, has been very loose with the football in this game, as he had a hideous overthrow of Devonta Smith that was just a few inches away from being a back-breaking interception by Chargers rookie defensive back RJ Mickens.

While the Eagles are playing on the road against one of the best defenses in the league with the much-maligned offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo at the sticks, games like this might actually help excuse Patullo to some degree. Hurts simply isn't hitting throws when they are there.

The Eagles are in a borderline free-fall move that is reminiscent of the 2023 season, and now that Hurts is starting to take a step backward, that could be a sign that this team needs a completely fresh start in 2025 with regard to their offensive philosophy.
