Philadelphia Eagles fans were all ecstatic when the team was finally able to offload Bryce Huff from the roster and send him to the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason.
Huff had a rough year in Philadelphia last season as he racked up just 13 tackles, three tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games. His wrist injury caused him to miss six games during the regular season, and he only played in two of the four playoff games.
The Eagles decided to trade Huff to the 49ers for a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick. That draft pick could move up to a fourth-round pick if he performs well, including hitting eight sacks in 2025.
Huff is almost halfway to that number after five games
Not many Eagles fans were expecting Huff to have the type of season he is having in San Francisco, but he is certainly having a resurgent year. He is putting up similar numbers this season that he did all of last year with the Eagles.
Huff has produced 13 tackles, four tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, three sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection in five games. Where was this Huff when he played for the Eagles last season?
The key stat all Eagles fans are going to be following this season is how many sacks Huff ends up getting. So far, he is just five sacks away from getting the Eagles a fourth-round pick in next year's NFL Draft, and he has 12 games remaining in the season.
He's on pace to hit about 10 sacks on the season. Some Eagles fans might be annoyed that he was not able to do that when the team was paying him $51 million for three years last year, but he should play well this year to help the Eagles in some way other than what he did in 2024.

For all that happened last season, Huff at least owes the Eagles that.
