What's the plan here?

At some point this season, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has to start telling fans what the plan is on offense.

It has been covered at nauseam as to what the problems of the offense is and what needs to be done. Everyone knows by now that the Eagles moved away from their identity of running the football over the last two games against the Denver Broncos and New York Giants. Each game was under 100 yards rushing, and both were losses.

The passing game is inconsistent with Jalen Hurts, missing wide-open receivers for deep ball touchdowns for two weeks in a row. The team is trying to ensure A.J. Brown gets as many targets and catches as possible.

Even the play-calling has been criticized by Lane Johnson and others for being too "predictable." It's like the defense already knows what's coming.

Time and time again, fans have talked about the same issues, but what is being done about them? What in the game plan is going to change to give fans the confidence they need to get this unit back on track?

Patullo on whether the offense needs to make changes

While facing the media with tough questions, Patullo responded to one about whether the offense needs to change or refine its game plan. Patullo understands something has to change with the team.

"I would say both, right? I mean defenses kind of change as time goes on, and we have to change. We have to adapt each week and look at what we are doing, what we've done, and try to be ahead of them as best we can."

There's an understanding that teams can't give too much information away in public as it could be a significant advantage for their opponents, but a response like that doesn't exactly invoke confidence in the fan base. Patullo didn't precisely say what the team needs to do to change the plan specifically.

Yes, adapting to each other is an obvious thing to do since each team runs its system differently. There really isn't much he can do to change the plan. Will he run more? Will he draw up more plays for DeVonta Smith? What is he going to do?

There are way too many unknowns here, and the Eagles fan base is stuck in the mud without knowing how to get out of it. Week 7's Minnesota Vikings game will undoubtedly show the fans whether Patullo has what it takes to be the offensive coordinator in Philly.
