Philadelphia Eagles fans were hoping for some good injury news rolling into the weekend, but it appears the team will be without edge rusher Jonathan Greenard for the second straight week.
The Eagles have announced their final injury report for their Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Greenard is the only player who is listed as out with a pectoral injury.
Before training camp, Greenard injured his pectoral while working out in the weight room. He ended up missing all of training camp and has been limited in practice throughout the last two weeks.
Impact of Jonathan Greenard being out for Eagles in Week 2
The Eagles will at least have Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt to handle things. Those two have plenty of experience being in the starting lineup throughout the last two season.
Hunt had a great opening game in the 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders, racking up seven pressures. Philly will need more of that from their young edge rusher.
Smith has been decent, but isn't making the highlight plays the Eagles need him to be for a former first-round pick. This is a critical game for Smith to really cement himself in the lineup because if Greenard returns next week, Hunt would have to be the choice.
Andrew Mukuba listed as questionable for the Titans game for Eagles
Starting safety Mukuba is the other Eagles player with an injury status, as he was listed as questionable with knee injury. He was seen leaving a sleeve on it after Thursday's practice, which he did not participate in. Mukuba seemed to indicate to reporters that he will play.
He is coming off a solid Week 1 game against the Commanders, as his coverage skills are improving. Mukuba is seen as a key player at safety, being a younger player with a ton of upside.
If Mukuba can't play in the game, it could be Marcus Epps and Michael Carter in the game. That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but Mukuba makes this secondary good.
Eagles will have Cooper DeJean and Jalen Carter in Week 2 game
DeJean and Carter missed part of the week with their own injuries. Carter is dealing with a wrist injury, but was seen in a cast. DeJean is dealing with a calf/abdomen injury.
Both guys have no injury status, which means they should be good to play in the Titans game. These are difference-makers that fans will be happy to have on the field.

Things could have been a lot worse, but with this injury report, Eagles fans will take it.
