No one will ever pound the table for a long snapper's addition. No one will ever sound the trumpets whenever one is signed, but ask any team that needs one how important they are. The Philadelphia Eagles have seemingly decided, after some consideration, that it's time to upgrade the position.
Rick Lovato has enjoyed a pretty good tenure with the franchise and will leave as a Super Bowl 59 champion. He did, however, have some questionable snaps last season, and it appears the team he has called home for nine seasons has looked outside of the organization to add another body. This one comes to us by way of the Cleveland Browns.

Eagles sign Charley Hughlett
Charley Hughlett has been in the NFL since being an undrafted rookie free agent in 2012. He was added by the Dallas Cowboys before bouncing around and spending the last 11 seasons in Cleveland.
He was released on February 24, but he is headed to Philly thanks to a one -year, $1.422 million deal. $467,500 is guaranteed. He receives a $167,500 signing bonus and $300,000 fully guaranteed.
Bryce Huff to the trade block
The Birds have also reportedly added Bryce Huff to the trade block. He'll join Dallas Goedert there. Thank Jordan Schultz for being one of the first to provide the update.
Sources: The #Eagles have been open to trade talks involving TE Dallas Goedert and DE Bryce Huff.

Goedert is in the final year of his deal, while Huff — one of last year’s big free-agent signings — has seen limited playing time due to Philly’s deep rotation. pic.twitter.com/HfxyyWweL3
There hasn't been a ton of mews mentioning whether or not there's been a huge market for Goedert's services. He has one year remaining on his current deal, and many Birds fans are hoping he stays in the nest.
Huff has been a disappointment. One of last year's big Eagles signings, he appeared in 12 games last season with six starts and registered 13 tackles with 2.5 sacks.
He was a healthy scratch during Super Bowl 59 and didn't crack the stat sheet during two in-game appearances during the postseason.
