An interesting training camp position battle that is not being discussed as much as it should be is the third-string quarterback battle between Dorian Thompson-Robinson and rookie Kyle McCord, currently with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Throughout the early stages of training camp, McCord and Thompson-Robinson have split the third-string reps. Day three of camp had an intriguing development with Thompson-Robinson gaining some traction with the job after a solid outing.
NBC Sports Philadelphia Eagles reporter Dave Zangaro chronicled the practice, sharing the stellar performance by DTR.
"QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson got exactly one second-team rep on Saturday. He’s not competing for that job, which belongs to Tanner McKee, but he is competing with Kyle McCord for the QB3 position. McCord and DTR continue to split reps. DTR had his best day of camp so far."
Who is going to edge out the job behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee?
It's a fascinating position battle as these guys are in two different parts of their career. McCord is just beginning as a day three draft pick and seemingly taking the same career path that Tanner McKee has with the Eagles. DTR needs a great training camp after having a one-touchdown to 10-interception career with the Cleveland Browns.
There is much more pressure for DTR to play well, as this can either set him up with a third-string job in Philly or send him packing. One advantage he has is a similar skill set to Jalen Hurts, as both are mobile and can be great playmakers. DTR's flaw in his game is decision-making and turnovers.
Preseason will be a big determinant of what Eagles fans are going to see at the third-string job. Jalen Hurts won't be getting much time on the field since he's more established. McKee could see heavy action in the first half of most of the three games.

McCord and Thompson-Robinson are going to battle it out until the end. It's a good sign to have both guys now reportedly performing well. That's a good problem for the Eagles to have.
