Even with the 2025 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, the Philadelphia Eagles still appear to be the top dogs in the league.
The Eagles selected 10 players in the NFL Draft after an offseason focused on extending key players and letting others walk. Philadelphia's goal for the offseason was to identify the young players who can step up and let other veterans collect big paychecks with other teams.
Despite the lack of moves made during the offseason, the Eagles are not widely doubted in the media. How are they ranking the Birds after the draft and entering mini-camp?
Where the Eagles land on each outlet's NFL power rankings
The consensus appears that most in the media believe in Philadelphia. Five sports outlets have released their power rankings of all 32 teams, with the Eagles taking the top spot. It appears the Howie Roseman magic has spread around the media for them to believe in the Eagles.
NFL.com (Rank 1)
Perhaps NFL.com's Eric Edholm says it best in his post-draft power ranking.
"One of these years, I am (going to) be unimpressed by an Eagles draft class. This is not the year. General manager Howie Roseman doesn't need me to say it, but he's good at his job. Ditto for the scouting staff as a whole.
Not all of Philadelphia's picks are going to work, which we know; it's the process and the thought and the patience that stand out. It all makes sense.
Did you realize the Eagles could have 12 picks in next year's draft? And at the very least, Jihaad Campbell, Andrew Mukuba, and Ty Robinson -- their first three picks from this year's draft -- figure to enter the rotation in 2025, with Mukuba capable of winning a starting job.
How many teams picking 32nd over the years can claim to have that strong a haul? Jalen Hurts and the boys are even better insulated to make another title run."
USA Today (Rank 1)
USA Today ranks Philly in the top spot.
"Even coming off a dominant Super Bowl triumph over an active dynasty, it very much feels like this team is positioned to achieve even more – which may be especially true given EVP/GM Howie Roseman somehow winds up with a player like LB Jihaad Campbell joining the roster at the end of the draft's first round. Rich and richer, etc., etc."
CBS Sports (Rank 1)
The Eagles rank number on for CBS Sports.
"There won't be a ton of change, very little on offense, which is why they start here at the top. They will have a new offensive coordinator in Kevin Patullo after losing Kellen Moore to the Saints, so that could be an adjustment."
FanSided (Rank 1)
"The defending champs lost a few key pieces in the offseason, but Howie Roseman's strong roster building still makes them the team to beat." Those were Mike Phillips' words as he states "Everyone is still chasing the Eagles", but he wasn't done.
Here's more.
"Adding Jihaad Campbell in the draft was a steal, while securing contract extensions with Saquon Barkley, Zach Baun, and Cam Jurgens will keep Philadelphia's title window open even longer."
Bleacher Report (Rank 1)
We finish with Bleacher Report's theory.
"Th,have done nothing this offseason that makes me believe they won't remain in the Super Bowl mix. Losing players like Milton Williams and Josh Sweat hurts but felt inevitable.
Incoming rookies like Jihaad Campbell and Andrew Mukuba should help the defense adjust. My biggest concern is the departure of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, and that concern largely stems from the double-coordinator change that sunk Philly in 2023. The Eagles may very well be better equipped to handle this shift."
