The Philadelphia Eagles' ability to consistently move the chains with their "Tush Push" quarterback sneak at a rate no other team in the league can match has prompted calls about the legality of such a move, ignoring the fact that only Jalen Hurts seems to be unstoppable at this maneuver.
In particular, the Green Bay Packers seem to be shaking with rage at the champion Eagles, as they tried to do everything they could to knock their offense down a peg.
The Packers were actually found to be the team who submitted a request to the NFL to get the Push banned. In a bit of revenge, the Eagles decided to replace backup Kenneth Gainwell by pilfering a still-productive player away from Green Bay in what could be a make-or-break season over there.
The Eagles agreed to terms with bruising running back AJ Dillon on a one-year contract that will lock him in as the top backup behind Saquon Barkley. The Packers just had to open their big mouths about the Tush Push, and now one of their top skill position players is crossing the Rubicon.
Eagles steal AJ Dillon from Packers after complaints about Tush Push
Dillon missed all of last season with an injury, and he seems to have relegated himself to a backup role in 2025. Signing with the Eagles, who have arguably the best offensive line in the league, could be a better option than going back to the No. 2 role behind Josh Jacobs in Green Bay.
Dillon has three straight seasons of at least 600 yards rushing in Green Bay despite splitting carries with Aaron Jones. What he lacks in Gainwell's speed and explosiveness he makes up for with size and power, as he could be a fun battering ram in short-yardage situations when Barkley needs a rest.
With or without the Tush Push, Philadelphia will once again head into the season with one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL. Barkley needs no introduction, but the addition of Dillon alongside the still-developing Will Shipley will mean Philly is set at running back heading into the NFL Draft.
The Eagles have been able to silence their many haters over the last few years, with Green Bay getting the worst of it three times in the last year. They were beaten by them on the field twice, including once in the postseason, and they had a top player stolen away.
