Eagles loss and injuries birth looming concerns with game vs. Cowboys nearing

Yeah, it's only one loss, but we have a lot to think about this week.

What a day! Football can be so much fun, and it can lead to those knots in the stomach that we felt after watching the Philadelphia Eagles' top-ranked defense surrender 22 fourth-quarter points to the Washington Commanders. Once upon a time, we told you it wasn't time to worry about Jayden Daniels' emergence yet. Well, buckle up because, buddy, that dude has arrived, and the storm came faster than we had hoped.

There are ebbs and flows during the course of games and seasons. That was something else entirely. That was more 'emotional roller-coaster' than divisional clash.

The world hasn't ended, but we have a lot to talk about in the aftermath of a game Philly had no business losing. The takeaways from this loss will be discussed until this team plays the Dallas Cowboys.

Philly helps Jayden Daniels lock up the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

Yeah... We thought we had some time before the Jayden Daniels takeover began. Well... Sometimes, you don't have as much time as you thought.

His performance yesterday helped him lock up the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. He's going to be around, and he's going to be a problem.

The Jalen Hurts vs. Jayden Daniels rivalry will be must-see television for years to come. The Washington Commanders are officially an issue.

They and Philly split the season series, but there's a chance we may see them again. These two may meet again during the postseason.

Will Jalen Hurts be ready by Week 17's game vs. the Dallas Cowboys?

Jalen Hurts may be ready by Sunday's game vs. the Dallas Cowboys. He may also sit that game out. It isn't often that guys clear the NFL's concussion protocol in less than seven days.

Philly should be good enough to beat Dallas even if he doesn't play, but we also thought they were good enough to outlast the Commanders.

Hurts shouldn't rush to return. Nick Sirianni's teams usually bounce back well after tough losses, and let's be frank. Philly is a better team than the Cowboys.

So, fingers are crossed that Jalen will be okay. Kenny Pickett will be fine with a week's worth of reps with the first team, unless... What if Kenny can't go.

Wait! Kenny Pickett is dealing with injury concerns now?

Well... Kenny's ribs are injured. There's something going on with his throwing arm.
One game played... QB2 is bow banged up.

Tanner McKee is the next man up if Pickett can't go. Let's hope Jalen is ready. The other prospects aren't as encouraging.

There's seemingly no way the Eagles will lock up the NFC's top postseason seed now.

Philly has three losses now with two games remaining. The Detroit Lions wrap up with a road game vs. the San Francisco 49ers and a home stand vs. the Minnesota Vikings. They'd need to lose both of those for the Birds to secure the top seed in the NFC.

That being said, it seems realistic that Philly should kiss the number-one seed goodbye. They'll play a road game vs. the Detroit Lions during the postseason if it comes down to that.
