The trade scenario no one's talking about...

The 2025 NFL Draft is finally here. While nobody knows what will happen, we do know Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles will shake things up.

With showtime being so close (finally), we can almost taste it. Speculation is at a fever pitch for what each team will do, and the same is true in Eagles-centered circles.

That's especially true now, considering they're the reigning, defending, and undisputed Super Bowl champions. Stellar draft picks, and savvy trades helped get them over the hump.

This particular first-round mock draft sees no need to go against this well-established grain. In this projection, the Eagles will be quite active in their attempt to retool and reload to defend their crown, so expect a fair bit of fireworks. Heavy is the head after all.

Now let's dance. Hit the chimes.

Full first-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft

This has been pretty much inevitable this past month leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft. The Tennessee Titans grab who they hope will be their first true franchise quarterback since Steve McNair.

The Cleveland Browns don't take the Colorado quarterback at the deuce, but they do take his swiss army knife teammate, who is determined to prove he can play both sides of the ball in the NFL, and it should be incredible to watch unfold.

The New York Giants don't see their franchise quarterback in this year's draft, despite sending out smoke screens. Instead, they opt to add arguably the best player in the draft with a defensive front that already consists of Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Dexter Lawrence, following the Eagles' blueprint. If you can't beat 'em...

TRADE: LAS VEGAS RAIDERS WITH NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

With the worst-case scenario for the New England Patriots coming to fruition, they decide to try and grab a litle something-something on their way out from the Las Vegas Raiders, who choose not to call the bluff of the Jacksonville Jaguars when it comes to Ashton Jeanty, and get the running back of new head coach Pete Carroll's dreams.

The Jags meanwhile stay put, and do the safe thing by taking Mason Graham to jump into a defensive front that features Josh Hines-Allen and 2022 number one overall pick Trayvon Walker in a strategy similar to the Giants.

FROM TRADE WITH RAIDERS

The Patriots in their new slot get the offensive lineman they were pretty much destined to get all along in Will Campbell out of LSU. Short arms be darned, the kid can play.

Another one that feels inevitable, the New York Jets continue their long history of drafting tight ends and grab Tyler Warren out of Penn State who could be this year's Brock Bowers in an attempt to give new quarterback Justin Fields a fighting chance.

The Carolina Panthers decide to ride the wave of Bryce Young's late-season momentum and grab him the top (though some find this ranking polarizing) wide receiver in the draft,.

While there may be some smoke to the fire of the Derek Carr injury, the New Orleans Saints stay put and grab far and away the top corner in the draft to replace Marshonn Lattimore.

The Chicago Bears. built their offensive line in free agency and trades, and will now turn to the draft to build their defensive line, grabbing Jalon Walker from Georgia to pair with Montez Sweat. Trenches baby, trenches.

Though the defense of the San Francisco 49ers has been depleted, the offensive line is also getting there, and Armand Membou falling to them would be too much to pass up,

Speaking of too much to pass up, the Dallas Cowboys go flashy and grab the running back to enter a running back room that is desperate for new talent, and the band played on.

TRADE: LAS ANGELES CHARGERS WITH MIAMI DOLPHINS

It's a pretty poor kept secret that the Indianapolis Colts could use tight end help. It also happens to be no secret that Colston Loveland is a stud that played for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan. The Chargers don't play any games and snipe the Colts.

The Colts decide to take a mauler in Kelvin Banks to add to an offensive line that could use some consistency and dependability outside of the absolute ox that is Quentin Nelson.

Another year, another round of consensus mocks having the Atlanta Falcons FINALLY taking an edge rusher. This trip around the sun they go with Mike Green out of Marshall, an absolute atheltic freak.

With Josh Sweat now reunited with Jonathan Gannon in the desert, the Arizona Cardinals opt to pair the Super Bowl hero with a Georgia Bulldog in Mykell WIlliams and basically lean into the fact that the Eagles are a big influence. It's a copycat league after all.

While the future of Trey Hendrickson remains murky, what's crystal clear is the Cincinnati Bengals need help on defense, desperately. With that being the case, they go for more edge help here.

The Seattle Seahawks look to give new QB1 Sam Darnold as easy of a time as they can in the pacific northwest, and add Emeka Egbuka to be reunited with his former college teammate in Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

One constant in this fruitful run of Tampa Bay Buccaneers football, even after the retirmeent of Tom Brady, was solid linebacker play, and they look to continue that with the selection of Jihaad Campbell out of Alabama.

TRADE: CLEVELAND BROWNS WITH DENVER BRONCOS

Queue the fireworks. The slide is over. Not only do the Browns jump back in to take Shedeur Sanders, they get both Colorado studs (who as you may have heard had both of their numbers retired by the school), and leapfrog the Pittsburgh Steelers in the process.

With that quarterback plan now blown to smithereens, the Steelers decide to bail and trade back with the Los Angeles Rams who could use cornerback help.

The Dolphins, now loaded with extra picks, decide to start up-front and retool the offensive line to give Tua Tagovailoa all the protection he needs to stay upright.

In what may be a bit of surprise, a Green Bay Packers tradition on draft night, the Packers add another young receiver in what should be an interesting reaction from the draft crowd in Green Bay.

The Minnesota Vikings are thrilled that the best safety in the draft falls to them at 24 in Malaki Starks out of Georgia, and can't run to the podium fast enough.

The wide receivers of the Houston Texans were eveiscrated by injury, and C.J. Stroud still did all he could. With that, they decide to grab a talented wide receiver who fall more than he should have to pair with Nico Collins to try and capitalize on this potential window.

SURPRISE! A third quarterback. Where there's smoke there's fire, and Jaxson Dart is this year's quarterback who filies up boards at the eleventh hour. The Steelers feel they have no choice, and take a chance on the kid from Ole Miss.

In a very Baltimore Ravens-move, they stay put amidst the mayhem and grab an offensive lineman who has a very high ceiling, and will have a good chance to reach it.

The biggest story of the Detriot Lions 2024 season was the plehtora of injuries on defense. They choose to reload up front and add Derrick Harmon to line up next to the returning Aiden Hutchinson.

The Washington Commanders also took a good look at the shellacking they took in the NFC Championship, as well as what the Eagles did in the Super Bowl, and grab the talented edge-rusher out of Boston College in Donovan Ezeiruaku.

The Buffalo Bills need some help on defense, especially on the back end if they have any prayer of breaking the glass ceiling in the AFC. They draft Nick Emmanwori out of South Carolina in what feels like a layup.

We all saw what happened in Super Bowl LIX. The Chiefs got absolutely humilated, and it was because they got bullied up front. This is their effort to help make sure that doesn't happen again on a big stage.

TRADE: PITTSBURGH STEELERS WITH PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

We have a Pennsylvania shuffle. The Steelers jump back in to grab a young running back to add to an increasingly youthful offense, while showing that there was indeed fire with the smoke.

What do the Eagles get in return? Why T.J. Watt of course.

Look when it comes to the NFL Draft, no one knows anything about anything. So let's have some fun with it. Even though it's the opinion of this writer that this is a pretty good reading of the tea leaves, objectively speaking of course.
