Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean look like the future of the Philadelphia Eagles secondary. Some questions that need answers. What happens with Darius Slay this offseason? Is it time for Philly to restock or look elsewhere?
Slay is also due a $16.1 million bonus ahead of the 2025-26 NFL season as his three-year, $50 million deal with the Eagles enters its final season. With so many budding stars, Philadelphia may be forced to part ways with Slay and replenish by looking at the NFL Draft.
Two cornerbacks at Senior Bowl Media Day told Inside the Iggles that they met with the Birds during the week. Here's what we discovered.
Eagles meet with Ole Miss star corner Trey Amos at the Senior Bowl.
Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos is one of those guys entering the NFL Draft that many, including myself, have fallen in love with. The six-foot, 195-pound cornerback measured 32-inch arms at the official Senior Bowl measurements and stood out in practice in Mobile, Alabama.
His movements looked very fluid and he moved around like a natural. He has certainly made himself some money.

Amos told Inside the Iggles on Wednesday evening that he met with the Philadelphia Eagles in Mobile. "It was a great conversation that we had," Amos said, "We probably will meet again."
His comments make it easy to believe that the Eagles showed some interest. He will likely meet with them again at the NFL Draft Combine in late February.
As for players that he watches, Amos said he has already begun watching Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, saying that he believes the two would be a "good fit."
Mitchell, like Amos, played in the Senior Bowl in 2024. There, he saw his draft stock skyrocket. Amos also saw his stock rise this week.
The Ole Miss cornerback, who transferred from Alabama last year, suffered an ankle injury, one that he said isn't major. When asked about it, he said "I'm good".
Eagles meet with BIG Ten cornerback Jaylin Smith.
The Eagles also met with another cornerback from a prominent school -- USC cornerback Jaylin Smith. Though Smith doesn't project to be drafted as high as Amos, he shows his athletic capabilities and untapped potential in flashes that can be turned more consistent with upper-level coaching.
Smith told Inside the Iggles that his meeting went well with Philadelphia. "It was a great meeting," Smith said, "I learned a lot and I opened up more and got more comfortable with the guys over there."
Smith spent four years at USC and in 2024, he grabbed two interceptions, one against Maryland and the other coming against Nebraska. He would serve as a good depth piece for the Eagles' secondary with room for growth and the potential to step in alongside Mitchell and DeJean.
"That'd be a crazy secondary," Smith said, "Both of those guys are Rookie of the Year finalists, so it'd be elite. It's a place for me, for sure." Expect the Eagles to have their eye on the cornerback position this off-season. Amos and Smith, two players they have already met, are potential options not only in the early stages of the draft but during later rounds as well.
