The Eagles announce a trio of roster moves. Meanwhile, peaking behind enemy lines may have given us some insight on the Cowboys' plans for Sunday's game.

Don't call it a comeback! Ian Book has been here for years! He's rocking his peers, and putting suckers in fear! What's that? A little dramatic, you say? Yeah... You're probably right, but give us a break. The Philadelphia Eagles reacquired Ian Book, and nothing says 'excitement' like an L.L. Cool J reference. You have no idea how long we've been waiting to use a line from Mama Said Knock You Out in a story about football.

Seriously though. Jalen Hurts is in the NFL's concussion protocol, and Kenny Pickett has a rib issue. That being said, it makes sense why the Birds would add another offensive signal-caller.

Eagles news: Philly announces three roster moves.

Shortly after news broke that the Eagles hosted Ian Book for a free-agent visit, they officially announced his signing. He has been signed to the practice squad along with running back Lew Nichols. Defensive back Tariq Castro-Fields was released in a subsequent move.

Book was claimed off waivers by Philly on August 31, 2022. He was waived on August 29, 2023. He has appeared in one NFL game, a 2021 start with the Miami Dolphins vs. the New Orleans Saints team that drafted him.

More Eagles news: The Dallas Cowboys seem content with honing their defensive attack toward Saquon Barkley.

Something seemingly became clear once Jalen Hurts was forced out of action vs. the Washington Commanders in Week 16. Dan Quinn seemed intent on employing a game plan. His team was going to do all it could to ensure Saquon Barkley wouldn't beat them.

Per a report, that also seems to be the Dallas Cowboys' strategy this week.

The secret is out, and it has been for a while. Saquon Barkley has added even more punch, and though few have succeeded, the opposition's plan is to limit Philly's star tailback as much as possible.

Ian Book's signing probably means Jalen Hurts is out this week. That plays in the Cowboys' favor. The Birds should still be good enough to beat Dallas without their QB, but if Kenny Pickett can't go, they'll have to hand Tanner McKee the keys and ask him to deliver the victory.
