The stage is set. The Philadelphia Eagles, after vanquishing the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round of the NFL Draft, the Birds assured themselves of at least one more home playoff game. The 6th-seed Washington Commanders won on the road vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That punched their ticket to the Motor City to face the top-seeded Detroit Lions.

Washington's win also assured Philly would face the winner of the Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams Monday night affair. We all know how that turned out.

The Rams are Philly's next opponent. That makes some of the fan base happy because L.A. was the team they wanted to face... But, why?

Eagles news: Are we sure the Rams are who Philly really wanted?

Conversations like the following occur all of the time, the path of least resistance. Philly isn't running from any fight, but football is all about matchups.

94 WIP-FM's Ike, Spike, and Fritz show ran a poll. L.A. Most participating voters said they'd rather see the Rams than the Vikings. Wait a second! We realize L.A. is one of the hottest teams in football, right?

Philly and L.A.'s paths crossed once already this season. That one was in Cali. The result was a convincing Eagles victory.

This Rams team, however, isn't the same unit Philly faced in Week 12. There's a saying... Be careful what you wish for... Now, we think the Birds will win, but no one should expect L.A. to roll over and play dead - Nope! Not this Rams team.

More Eagles news: Did Howie Roseman tip his hand? Is Zack Baun getting an extension?

What a world we live in, huh? Jason Kelce is a freaking talk show host, and we haven't missed a single episode of They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce.

The plan is for his brand to run for five consecutive Fridays through the NFL Playoffs. Guess what Howie Roseman made an appearance.

Did you catch that? It sounds like First-Team All-Pro Zack Baun is getting an extension! You won't hear a single complaint by an Eagles fan if that were to happen.
