This offseason, the loss of Jaelan Phillips left an opening for the Philadelphia Eagles to find a true pass rusher. They eventually filled it with Jonathan Greenard in a trade, but the depth at the position has left fans still questioning whether the edge rusher is good.

It has led to rumors that the Eagles are reportedly interested in trading for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby. There is a lot of debate as to whether it is the right move for the Eagles, as it will cost them draft picks and a lot of money.

Philly currently has Greenard, Nolan Smith, and Jalyx Hunt as the main guys in the rotation. There is a free agent signing at edge rusher who might be able to help the Eagles in making sure their depth concerns are met with the right man for the job.

Arnold Ebiketie is forgotten about with Eagles fans

This offseason, Ebiketie signed a one-year deal with the Eagles that is worth up to $7.3 million. He has assembled 129 tackles, 41 quarterback hits, 17 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, six pass deflections, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 67 career games.

Last year, Ebiketie found some success with pressuring the quarterback as Pro Football Focus had him post career highs in pass-rush win rate (16.8%) and pass-rush grade (73.4). He received an overall PFF grade of 74.9, ranking 28th out of 115 eligible edge rushers, as he had 25 pressures and 19 hurries despite only having two sacks.

Depth was a massive concern last year for the Eagles, as while Joshua Uche was able to pressure the quarterback, the sack numbers were not there for most of the edge rushers. Hunt led the team with 6.5 sacks, as the rest, like Smith, Uche, and even Phillips, struggled to produce sacks.

Ebiketie and Greenard had their own struggles getting sacks in 2025, but they have both proven they can do it before. Greenard has at least 12 sacks in 2023 and 2024, while Ebiketie had six sacks each in 2023 and 2024. Ebiketie's accomplishments those seasons were just as impressive because he hasn't always been a starter; he's more of a rotational player.

The Eagles need to get more pressure on the quarterback, and others have to step up for them. Ebiketie could be the guy who can finally give them the bench consistency to do so.
