It's business as usual for Quinyon Mitchell as the perennial All-Pro cornerback delivered another stellar performance against the Detroit Lions.

Tasked with "locking down" Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, Mitchell's performance was nothing short of stellar in the Eagles' 16-9 win over the Lions in Week 11. Next Gen Stats shared that Mitchell was targeted six times, allowing zero receptions and one pass breakup.

His recent performance of not allowing a reception on his six targets is tied for the most targets without allowing a catch over his past two seasons. This season, Mitchell's completion percentage against him is 41.9%, the lowest by any player since 2018 (min. 50 targets).

Mitchell continues to dominates the NFL with an All-Pro coming his way

Mitchell's continued performances have consistently ranked him as the NFL's next "island," a welcome arrival for Vic Fangio and the Eagles defense. Consistently, Mitchell is tasked with shadowing the opposing team's number one option, and, aside from Cortland Sutton's performance, the 2024 first-round pick has been among the NFL's best in his sophomore campaign.

Mitchell's consistent elite play has given the Eagles' defense a lot of flexibility. With the Eagles' subpar play, the area across from Mitchell has been a weak point on the defense.

The Eagles have leaned on Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo for most of the season despite acquiring Jakorian Bennett and Jaire Alexander. Bennett has remained on injured reserve for most of the season, while Alexander announced he's stepping away from the team, possibly to retire after eight seasons in the NFL.

Mitchell's next task will be with the Dallas Cowboys, where he'll be asked to guard CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Dallas is fresh off their 33-16 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, in which the duo combined for 14 receptions, 210 yards, and two touchdowns. The Cowboys and the Eagles are scheduled to face off in Week 12.
