All should be fine when you're winning, but if you're the Philadelphia Eagles, that is rarely the case. After putting up just 10 points in a win over the Green Bay Packers, one Philadelphia radio host can't take it anymore.
"I think we all know this. There's no way that the defense should be this much better than the offense," Joe DeCamara said on 94WIP. "Look at the frickin' roster. Look at the offensive roster."
"It boggles the mind that the offense can be this ... not grea! Not good!"
In a roundabout way, DeCamara is screaming at offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, and every Eagles fan knows it.
Joe DeCamara said the quiet part out loud about Eagles OC Kevin Patullo
For any Eagles fan who has watched this team all season long, this rings far too true. Heck, all you had to do as a football fan, in general, was watch Monday Night Football against the Packers.
Patullo is clearly not cut out to be an NFL play caller. It has been abundantly clear for way too long, now. We can count the ways he's been inept, but it would take all day.
If you could sum it up, though, one might say that Patullo does the exact opposite of what he's supposed to do in far too many moments. Situational football is completely lost on this man.
Patullo is unable to get this offense into any rhythm whatsoever which, to DeCamara's point, is insane when you have arguably the best running back in football. There should be very simple ways to get Saquon Barkley the football in space, but feeding him routinely and in obvious moments doesn't seem to be an option, regardless.
It's third-and-long? Oh, how about a draw play? Or a screen to a third-string running back? No offense to Will Shipley, whatseover, but that's malpractice from Patullo.
Patullo can't figure out when to be aggressive on pass plays. He will call them at the most obviously-wrong times.
These are all problems that could be put to rest if Patullo is fired. Who takes over as play caller? How about quite literally anyone? At this stage, getting Patullo out of the job would be as important to this offense as any move.
A.J. Brown drama aside, this is the one thing that the Eagles must address immediately.

This defending Super Bowl champion offense is only 23rd in the league in total yards per game. Thankfully, it's their defense that's allowed them to be in scoring position on many occasions.
