No one takes better care of their own than the Philadelphia Eagles. We've said that before, but when we originally said it, we felt that statement could be debated.
There is no more room for debate on this topic. No organization takes better care of their players than Philly. Reportedly, the have rewarded one of their prized 2024 acquisitions with a massive extension, and we say massive, we truly mean that by definition.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report he has been awarded an extension. The numbers are as follows: two years, $41.2 million, with $36 million guaranteed. Saquon later thanked the organization for believing in him.

This comes on the heels of what might be the best singular season by any free-agent signing in league history (and after the three-year, $37.75 million deal he signed last March). That deal carried a $26 million guarantee that could increase to $46.75 million with bonuses.
Some might see this is shocking. We see this as one heck of a message sent they'll continue to benefit from.
Saquon Barkley's deal sends a clear and welcomed message from the Eagles to perspective free agents.
The Philadelphia Eagles don't win Super Bowl 59 without Saquon Barkley. You can state that about many players. It's particularly true about the Offensive Player of the Year.
Saquon represented himself well. He ran and reverse-hurdled his way into the hearts of Birds fans everywhere. He's been rewarded handsomely, but this extension isn't just a reward for his efforts. It's a powerful advertising tool. It sends a message to the perspective free agents who might consider Philly as a destination.
This deal says a ton. It says 'look how we rewarded Saquon for performing'. It says that players who come to Philadelphia and perform will be taken care of, and trust us on this. Players and agents are paying attention.
The Eagles have long been seen as one of the NFL's class organizations. Players want to play here, and this (and the recent Super Bowl win) will only attract more quality free agents to the City of Brotherly Love.
