If you ask any Philadelphia Eagles fan which teams they despise, the answer is easy. Mentioning the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders is almost like using profanity.
That attitude seems to run both ways. The Cowboys have had a rough season. They lost their identity. They lost their quarterback. Now, they're losing their chivalry.
This Sunday, NFC East rivals, Philly and the Washington Commanders, meet on the field to play a football game. If the Commanders lose, the Birds win the division's crown. Dallas' playoff chances would also remain alive. Don't tell one Dallas star that.
Micah Parsons is on record. The battle lines have been drawn. Guess where he stands on the subject.
Micah Parsons refuses to cheer for the Eagles.
Imagine hating a team so much that you would rather call it quits and endure a long offseason than to watch a nemesis win. That's where Micah Parsons has planted his flag. An Eagles win helps the Cowboys' cause, but the former Penn State star could care less.
Earlier this week, he spoke to The Athletic and shared his distaste for the Birds.
Parsons grew up in Harrisburg, Pa. That's a city brimmed with Eagles fans. He also attended Penn State whose alum often split allegiances between The Steel City's Pittsburgh Steelers and the the City of Brotherly Love's Birds.
At Penn State, Parsons played with Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia's new running back has enjoyed a phenomenal debut with his new squad and has been in the conversation for the MVP trophy. We all know what this is about though. The Eagles have long lived in Parson's mind rent-free.
In Week 9, the Eagles crushed Dallas by a 34-6 final score. The two will meet again in Week 17.
That game may not mean much for the guys dressed in blue and grey if the Eagles take hang an 'L' on the Commanders this week. There's bad news for Dallas though.
Philly's remaining games are winnable. Regardless of how this next one turns out, the Cowboys figure to be eliminated from contention at some point. They've seemingly dug a hole they can't climb out of.
