Going into the NFL's Wild Card Weekend, the Philadelphia Eagles sit atop the league as one of the Super Bowl favorites. To kick things off, Philly will host the no. 7 seeded Green Bay Packers as they begin their run toward another championship.
Ending the year as one of the better and most-improved defenses in the league, Philadelphia has enjoyed a resurgence on that side of the ball thanks to Vic Fangio. The defense has become one of the tops in the league, once again, a year after failing to meet expectations.
The loaded unit features plenty of talent that's come out of the University of Georgia, too, which has become a trend for this Eagles team.
And, as they get set for the postseason, the Eagles decided to go out and sign yet another former Bulldog standout.
The Eagles signed a former first-round pick to the roster prior to their Wild Card matchup with Green Bay
Wednesday, it was announced that the Eagles had gone out and signed former 2022 first-round pick Lewis Cine off the Buffalo Bills' practice squad.
Cine, a first rounder originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings, has only appeared in a grand total of 11 career games. Injuries have been a big story of Cine's career, and when he's been healthy, he simply hasn't been able to earn a spot on the field.
In fact, he's only played 10 defensive snaps during the regular season. Most of his action has been seen on special teams, as evidenced by 134 career snaps on that side of the ball.
If anything, this is a depth move. Hopefully, if Cine has to see the field, having the mind of Fangio behind unleashing the former Bulldog will help him reach a higher ceiling than he's been able to achieve thus far.
