As the weeks go by, it's becoming increasingly clear that Landon Dickerson's time with the Philadelphia Eagles may be nearing its end.
Philly made several roster moves over the last few days, with an interesting signing announced on Thursday. The Eagles signed three players to the roster, including former New York Giants offensive lineman Evan Neal.

New York selected him in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and he played in 29 games, starting 27, between 2022 and 2024. An MCL sprain and hamstring injuries over the last few years forced him to miss several games before the Giants moved on from him last year.
While the Neal signing was more about adding depth to an already depleted offensive line, it also shows the Eagles' cards. From the outside, it might be the first signal that Dickerson is one foot out the door.
How Evan Neal's arrival impact Landon Dickerson's future with the Eagles
Neal shouldn't be seen as a replacement for Dickerson, as the former Giants lineman has struggled. Whether it's injuries or consistency, Neal is at a point in his career where he is more likely to be a good young backup on the line.
If there is a lineman on the Eagles who should be seen as Dickerson's backup, it's actually Willie Lampkin, who has started at left guard in the last two games.
After a rough first half against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5, Lampkin has played well since. He has allowed five pressures and one quarterback hit in 98 pass-blocking snaps. Pro Football Focus has graded Lampkin 54.4 overall, ranking 53rd of 77 guards, with a pass-blocking grade of 49.8 (59th) and a run-blocking grade of 54.4 (58th).
To put that in perspective, Dickerson allowed four pressures and a sack in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders, and PFF gave him a 37.6 overall grade. Lampkin is looking pretty good compared to Dickerson.
Neal is a depth piece on the roster with solid experience at guard and tackle. If anything, he could fill in for the 2026 season if Dickerson truly gets traded.
Eagles are going to have to trade Landon Dickerson at some point either in 2026 or the offseason
Dickerson was a great talent coming out of college and made his presence known early. He was a Pro Bowler in 2022 and 2023. Up until last year, he was a consistent starter the Eagles could lean on.
Over the last year-plus, it's been clear that things haven't been the same. Injuries have plagued Dickerson's career, as he had so many issues throughout the 2025 season. This year, it's the knee, and now, on the Week 7 injury report, it's a pectoral injury to add insult to injury.
There have been rumors of the Eagles soft-benching Dickerson and using the knee injury as an excuse to do so. He has also made interesting public comments that hint at some frustration with the organization.
With Cam Jurgens being traded a few weeks ago, the Eagles could end up doing the same thing with Dickerson. If Eagles general manager Howie Roseman can get a Day 2 or high Day 3 draft pick, they might end up doing it before the trade deadline. If not, Philly could offload him in the offseason.

It feels like Neal's arrival comes at a time when the Eagles are ready to move Dickerson off the roster and move forward with Lampkin for now. Some might be surprised if Dickerson survives the 2026 season.
