It's hard to craft an NFL resume as impressive as the one belonging to Philadelphia Eagles team captain Darius Slay. Here's what a dozen years will hopefully earn you if you put your head down and work hard: six Pro Bowl mentions (2017–2019, 2021–2023), a First-Team All-Pro nod, and a season where he led the NFL in interceptions.

There isn't much to complain about there. Half a dozen trips to football's all-star team is nothing to sneeze at.

The crowning achievement of Slay's career came this past season, his second as an Eagles team captain. Philly won its second Super Bowl. This is the first ring the guy we refer to as 'Big Play' has earned.

So, a dozen seasons lead us to this. Slay wants to play one more season, and we aren't sure he'll do so wearing the Midnight Green of the Eagles. We will talk about that in about a week or so and do so in great detail. Today is all about celebrating another Bird we're extremely proud of, but we can never be more proud than the citizens of his hometown.

Eagles star Darius Slay receives the key to his city in beautiful Brunswick, Georgia.

There's nothing like a trip to Georgia. There are many places to fall in love with like Atlanta, Helen, Savannah, Augusta, Madison, and Thomasville. Super Bowl champ Darius Slay is from Brunswick, and recently, he returned home to receive a hero's welcome and parade.

Darius Slay received the key to the city, one of the greatest gifts anyone can receive. The honor literally brought him to tears. Check out a couple of highlights from the days action.

Three of Slay's six Pro Bowl honors were earned during his five seasons in the City of Brotherly Love. If the most recent was his final in green, he's left us with a lot to be thankful for.

He was injured several times during the campaign. He fought back onto the field each time.

We salute what might be a former team captain. We'll be cheering for you unless you join the Detroit Lions or wind up playing in a game vs. the Eagles (or both).
