Philadelphia Eagles fans are on the verge of begging their team to break a five-game losing streak in Week 8, when they face the Washington Commanders.

The Eagles are hoping for big things entering the game, with Saquon Barkley back on a limited-snap basis. They won't have key starters like DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, and Jihaad Campbell, though.

Still, with the 1-4-1 Commanders as their opponents, it's easy to see this as the get-right game the Eagles have needed for over a month. Let's look at some bold predictions for Philly as they try to end a losing streak that's kept fans up at night.

Bold predictions for the Eagles in Week 8 against the Commanders

Saquon Barkley gains 100 total yards on 15 snaps

Despite the Commanders ranking 14th in the NFL against the run and allowing 100.5 yards per game, Barkley could be poised for a big day. In their last meeting back in Week 1, he rushed for a season-high 83 yards on 15 carries, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. He'll be on a snap count in the game, but expect him to come up big in primetime football.

Eagles' defense goes a second straight week without a sack

Despite the Commanders' flaws as a team, their offensive line has been pretty solid in pass protection, allowing only 14 sacks, which ties them for 13th in the NFL. The Eagles went through the Dallas Cowboys Week 7 game without a sack or quarterback hit. With Jayden Daniels on the opposite side and the struggles with the edge rushers, expect a second straight week with zero sacks on the board for Philly.

Makai Lemon gets his first career 100-yard game

The Cowboys game might have been a disaster for the Eagles' 2026 season, but it showed really good progress for rookie wide receiver Makai Lemon in his best game as an NFL pass catcher. Lemon caught seven passes for 67 yards and nabbed his first career touchdown reception. Without DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks for the second straight game, Lemon has built some good chemistry with Tanner McKee and could be in for his first career 100-yard contest.

Quinyon Mitchell gets his second interception of the season...and returns it for a touchdown

Sure, this might be more wishful thinking, but Mitchell has been one of the very few bright spots for the Eagles this season. He has come close multiple times to getting interceptions before and after his first career regular-season pick. This time around, though, watch for Mitchell to not only get an interception, but return it for a critical touchdown.

Tanner McKee throws his first career multi-touchdown game

McKee has been improving his play in his first two starts of the 2026 season. He has struggled with missed throws and one interception, but overall, he has held his own. Watch for this game to be the first time he gets more than one touchdown; how about touchdowns to Dallas Goedert and Makai Lemon?
