Eagles won't forget those NFL teams who helped support the Tush Push

There weren't many, but it was enough.

About 70% of the NFL teams did not support the Tush Push, but the Philadelphia Eagles will remember those who did stand with them.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini first reported that the NFL owners voted on the Tush Push ban, which was not enough to pass. The final vote was 22 in favor of the ban, and 10 teams voted against the proposal. When voting is done, the NFL requires 24 votes to pass a proposal.

Some teams that can be easily guessed as those favoring the proposal are the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills. Some others teams come out opposing the ban. Those are the ones the Eagles will be indebted to.

Who supported the Eagles and the Tush Push

Russini added that a source told her that there are so far four teams that have come out in favor of the Tush Push. Here are the teams that helped the Eagles out:

  • Baltimore Ravens
  • New England Patriots
  • Detroit Lions
  • New York Jets

It feels more appropriate that the AFC teams would support the Eagles. Baltimore makes sense as the two teams have a good relationship, as Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was a longtime assistant in Philadelphia during the Andy Reid era.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and Jets head coach Aaron Glenn are old-school guys who don't seem to mind the play. Despite being former defensive players, it's a welcome sight to see them back Philadelphia up on it.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell has always been outspoken about the Tush Push not being banned. Last month, Campbell spoke on how it is each team's responsibility to stop the play.

"I am of the school that they found something and it's up to everybody else to stop it. So I'm a hard yes."

There are five others teams who have not been identified, but in Philadelphia, those teams are the real heroes of the offseason. Thanks to them, the Eagles can continue to use the play that has made them successful on short yards over the years.
