What a week it's been for the Philadelphia Eagles. Players and coaches have likely slept very little between media appearances and celebratory get-togethers. But, it has to have been worth it.
After all, Phily just won Super Bowl 59. That's cause for all the celebration one can handle.
One of the biggest reasons for the Eagles' Super Bowl season is, of course, running back Saquon Barkley. He's the man nobody can stop talking about, and justifiably so. He put up historical numbers in his first year with the team, nearly breaking an all-time single-season record held by Erick Dickerson.
Speaking of Dickerson, the legend recently sat down with FanSided's own Iain McMillan and Cody Williams during Super Bowl Radio Row and has plenty to say about the star running back who nearly took his record.
"I think he's a great player. I'm glad to see him get out of New York. I never thought he'd reach his potential in New York," he started.
Sure, that's not exactly a kind sentiment in reference to the Giants. But, it got a whole lot more personal than that.
Eric Dickerson threw the ultimate shade on Saquon Barkley's behalf
"That general manager needs to have his a** fired for sending him to the same division," he laughed.
Now, of course the Giants didn't exactly send Barkley to the Eagles. But, they had to have known Philadelphia would be an option. And still, Giants general manager Joe Schoen balked at the idea of keeping him around.

And would you look at him now? Eagles fans have seen, up close and personal, just how influential Barkley has been within this offense. Not only that, though, it's been Barkley's humility and leadership that's also helped fuel the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory.
"I really believe the Eagles would not be here in this situation if it were not for him," Dickerson noted.
Look, if one of the all-time greats says as much, chances are, it's true. Dickerson would know the importance of the running back position more than most, and he's simply saying exactly what Eagles fans already know to be true.
Barkley has made all the difference in the world, and now the Eagles are world champs.
