The job for Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is never done.
Roseman was back at it again after the Eagles officially completed their training camp season and were now preparing for the preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Eagles had one last move to make before wrapping up and preparing for the 2026 season.
On their social media account, the Eagles announced they signed wide receiver Tahj Washington and released another receiver, Brandon Hayes. Philly has signed and released Hayes on and off throughout the last few months. Washington was a former seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2024, catching three passes for 37 yards.

Washington does have an interesting connection with the Eagles that could be a storyline to watch. Eagles first-round pick Makai Lemon and Washington were teammates at USC back in 2023 before Washington went into the NFL.
Philly adds another receiver to the team, as they try to add enough bodies to the roster before the preseason game. The Eagles might play Lemon in the game, but DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks most likely won't play. It'll be a toss-up as to whether Hollywood Brown plays in the game.
The chances of Washington making the team are slim, as he is looking toWashington'smake the practice squad. Another reason for him to play well is to show off his skills for another team if the Eagles waive him.
More than anything, Washington is a camp body to help the team get through this final game. Philly wants to rest as many key players as possible.
This may not be the last move the Eagles make, as they may have trades in the works. They made a lot more trades last year before the final preseason game, but this time around, Roseman is content with what he's got. Or he is waiting for his moment to strike the perfect deal for his team.

Eagles fans will have to wait and see what else Roseman has up his sleeve for the 2026 season. For the time being, this quiet move should be the last before their final preseason game of 2026. After that, they'll finalize the team's 53-man roster for the Washington Commanders showdown to open the regular season up.
