The second week of training camp for the Philadelphia Eagles has not been the smoothest for the offense as they are now facing a big problem on their hands if it isn't addressed as soon as possible.
CBS Sports Eagles reporter Jeff Kerr wrote about the team's Tuesday practice, during which he noticed some issues with the offense, a trend that has persisted over the last couple of days. It was what the team was doing before the snap, and right when the ball moved is where the main problems are coming from.
"Defense certainly won this practice for the second consecutive day, getting the better of the offense. That's going to happen in the heat of battle, especially with how frequently Fangio disguises coverage and line stunts.
The frustrating part for the offense wasn't getting beat at the line of scrimmage, but the number of pre-snap penalties that occurred (my count was six). The official at practice even said his arm was getting sore from throwing so many flags.
There were some low snaps in shotgun from center Brett Toth as well, as the veteran is filling in with the first team while Cam Jurgens is limited (back). Perhaps rookie Drew Kendall may earn more of a look with the first team in the coming practices.
The defense has been winning practices recently, a huge victory for a unit that had its questions heading into camp."
What's going on with the offense in Philly at training camp?
The first major concern with the offense is what is happening pre-snap. An estimated six penalties in one practice is not good. Whether that falls on the quarterback Jalen Hurts, Jurgens, or others, that must get addressed.
Depth at center is also a concern, as a veteran like Toth struggles, which is not a great sign. Kendall getting more playing time would bode well for the late-round rookie looking to earn a roster spot on the team.
Monday's practice also reported issues on offense, with Hurts throwing an interception and experiencing accuracy problems. This was part of how the defense was playing with tighter coverage, and, as Kerr mentioned earlier, Fangio is frequently changing his coverages.
Will this be a lingering issue to worry about this season? Probably not, as it is too early in training camp to hit the panic button. If they keep occurring through September, then a conversation will need to be started.

Until then, it is simply the Eagles' offense working through the kinks before the regular season begins against the hated Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
