While the Philadelphia Eagles have plenty of decisions to make on the offense side of the ball, one possible change on the depth chart may be a bit clearer as the Eagles head into the offseason.
With current WR3 Jahan Dotson a free agent, the Eagles will surely look at different options in an effort to supplement Dotson's 2025 production. However, while the Eagles may kick tires on low-risk free agents and maybe late-round draft picks, a 2025 undrafted free agent may be the Eagles' most effective option to replace Dotson.
Who the Eagles could look at to replace Jahan Dotson in 2026
Darius Cooper, who emerged this season as a rookie, could be an effective option, offering financial relief and high upside as an internal option that could provide stability in the micro for the Eagles' offense. Cooper will be entering his second season of a three-year rookie deal that sees him earning just over $1 million per Spotrac, approx. $1.7 million less than Dotson's earnings in 2025.
Cooper, despite an IR stint for four weeks, still appeared in 13 games this season, seeing action in 212 offensive snaps and 103 special teams snaps in his rookie year. Cooper recorded nine receptions for 92 yards, while also being applauded for his blocking ability on the perimeter for the Eagles' rushing attack. He also recorded a reception for nine yards during the Eagles' playoff loss to San Francisco.
Dotson recorded 18 receptions for 262 yards on 36 targets and 599 snaps. Comparatively, Cooper's production could surpass Dotson if given the opportunity, especially with the Eagles having questions about A.J. Brown, and another pending free agent in Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia may be forced into utilizing Cooper in an expanded role in 2026.
While Dotson was extremely serviceable, the Eagles felt decent enough about Cooper to trade John Metchie for help in the defensive secondary with Michael Carter II. With the 2026 offseason beginning take shape, evaluating Cooper as a viable receiving option for Sean Mannion's offense could be a high priority for the 2026 team.

Brown's status is up in the air; the Eagles could be looking at a high draft pick to replace his production. With Cooper's experience and low-dollar demand, he could be a perfect option as a stopgap to give the Eagles instant value moving forward as a stabilizing figure in the Eagles' wide receiver room.
