Throughout the offseason, Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been receiving praise for his 2024 play. Now his peers are sharing their thoughts on the Pro Bowler.
The latest update to the NFL's top 100 players voted on by the players released with Carter ranking 43rd. He becomes the fourth current Eagles player to make the list with Jordan Mailata, Cooper DeJean, and Quinyon Mitchell.
"One year removed from finishing second in AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting, Carter makes his debut in the Top 100 behind his first Pro Bowl campaign. Taking on a larger role as a starter in the defense, Carter was a part of the Eagles' young but impressive defensive front line, keeping opposing quarterbacks in check throughout the season and Philly's march to Super Bowl LIX. Carter notably made two key defensive plays to close out the Eagles' Divisional Round win over the Los Angeles Rams, recording a third-down sack of Matthew Stafford and then a QB hit on his incompletion the next play to force a turnover on downs to end the game.
NFL Pro Insight for : Jalen Carter played 79.5% of the Eagles defensive snaps this season, the second-highest playtime rate at his position league-wide (despite sitting out in Week 18)."

Carter earned the right to be in the top 50
Despite his sack numbers going down from 2023 (six) to 2024 (4.5), Carter dominated on the defensive line to earn his first Pro Bowl selection and was a second-team All-Pro selection. He finished last year with 42 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 16 quarterback hits, six pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in 16 games.
There is more pressure on Carter in Year 3 to step up in a more leadership role with a young defense. Luckily for the Eagles, they have him as well as Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo on the line this year, which is looking promising as one of the top units in the league.
A lot of talk this offseason has been on the fact that Carter is still learning the defensive tackle position and is only going to get better. Offenses should be shaking in their boots that the 314-pound lineman who can already do it all is only going to improve.

Entering 2025, Carter is looking to take a massive leap that would put him over the top of Chris Jones and Dexter Lawrence at defensive tackle. Eagles fans know what Carter can bring to the table, and 2025 is only going to be more dominant than ever.
