The snow was swirling, the wind was whipping, and Jalen Hurts made some major Eagles franchise history in Philadelphia's 28-22 Divisional Round victory over the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field.

It came down to the closing seconds in a game that was probably closer than it should have been, but the Eagles held on, and now they'll host the Washington Commanders next weekend with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. But, before moving forward to that game, let's look at the history Hurts made against L.A.

Jalen Hurts tied Nick Foles for second-most playoff wins by a starting QB in Eagles history

The postseason victory was Hurts' fourth as the starting quarterback of the Eagles, which ties Philadelphia folk hero Nick Foles for the second-most in franchise history. Only Donovan McNabb (9) has more.

Foles famously led the Eagles through the playoffs and to a victory in Super Bowl LII after Carson Wentz tore his ACL late in the regular season. Foles acquired three of his playoff wins during that run, and he also led the Birds to a Wild Card win over the Chicago Bears the following season. Meanwhile, McNabb's nine playoff wins were spread out over several seasons during his decade-long run as Philadelphia's starter.

Hurts now has a playoff record of 4-3. He lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round during his second season (first as a starter). Then, he won two postseason games in 2022 before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. He again lost to the Bucs in the Wild Card round last season, and has now led the Eagles to two playoff wins this season, so far.

His numbers from the win over L.A. don't jump off the stat sheet, but he did enough to get the job done. He was 15 of 20 for 128 yards. No touchdowns, No interceptions. He also added 70 rushing yards, including a 44-yard touchdown gallop on the game's first drive.

That play set the tone for Philadelphia, and they never relinquished the lead after drawing first blood. Now, with a win over Washington in the NFC Championship, Hurts could lead the Eagles back to the Suoper Bowl for the second time in three years and pass Foles to take sole control of the second spot on the leaderboard in the process.
