It only took one week for Jalen Hurts to get back in the good graces of fans and sports writers alike after his performance against the anemic Las Vegas Raiders.
Hurts put together an impressive performance, going 12 for 15 for 175 passing yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles' 31-0 victory during their Week 15 matchup, silencing the "doubters" for the next week. Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski gave Hurts an "A" for his recent output, a complete turnaround from his Week 14 performance against the Chargers.
"Is the Philadelphia Eagles offense fixed now? Well, it is for one week. Next week could be an entirely different story if the ups and downs from this season are any indication. To be fair, the Eagles took care of business against an inferior opponent. Yes, Philadelphia entered the contest on a three-game losing skid. Still, Nick Sirianni's squad was far more talented and it showed. After throwing four interceptions a week earlier, Jalen Hurts responded with an efficient contest. The Eagles quarterback threw only 15 passes, but he completed 12, including three touchdowns, before leaving the game early because of the lopsided score."
Hurts is back on track after rough patch
The Eagles have been under continued criticism for their offensive performance over much of the season. While it'd be immature to think the Eagles' offense is "fixed," the temporary relief Hurts provided against the Raiders does give fans some hope for the final three weeks of the season.
While the Eagles' offensive output has been consistently inconsistent, Hurts and company took care of business against an inferior Raiders team, which is what was expected from a Nick Sirianni-led team that, despite all its shortcomings, is clearly a far more talented team, as was on full display this past Sunday.
Hurts' latest performance allows Eagles fans to hope his five-turnover performance against the Chargers is behind him and delivered one of the most efficient outputs of his career, paving the way for Philadelphia's backup quarterback, Tanner McKee, to earn some playing time, in which he went three of three for 33 yards.
The bounce-back performance is indicative of Hurts' approach throughout the season as the even-keeled franchise quarterback has preached remaining level-headed while focusing on the "main-thing," not getting too high or too low after each performance. Hurts' ability to continue focusing on each week the same way showed up this past weekend, which resulted in Philadelphia earning a much-needed win and him earning an "A" from Sobleski.
The Eagles are slated to take on the Washington Commanders in Week 16. While the Commanders are eliminated from the playoffs, divisional matchups can never be overlooked.
