While the Philadelphia Eagles' offense has been improving in training camp, there are still plenty of things they need to work on.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been getting into a rhythm with what he is doing and how he's attacking the offense. To Hurts' credit, he has shown he can handle the uncomfortable parts of Sean Mannion's scheme and do so well.
Hurts also has a lot of work when it comes to building rapport with his new wide receivers. He might need a bit more work with Hollywood Brown, though.
Jalen Hurts and Hollywood Brown are struggling to get in-sync at Eagles camp
NBC Sports Philadelphia Eagles reporter Dave Zangaro shared his latest observations from the team's training camp practice before they play the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason. Hurts and Brown were seen struggling together again, resulting in some extra work.
"During 7-on-7s, Hurts did throw an interception on a pass intended for Hollywood Brown. Second-year CB Mac McWilliams was able to jump the route and pick off the pass. He celebrated with one of the worst punts you’ll ever see.
After practice, Hurts took some time working with Brown on the route that led to the interception."
Brown was brought in this offseason to give the Eagles' offense the speed they have needed since Hurts' arrival. Throughout training camp, though, Hurts and Brown have struggled with chemistry. This is now two straight practices where they were not on the same page, and it led to an interception.
This has not been the same case with the other wide receivers at camp. Hurts and other new guys like Dontayvion Wicks and Elijah Moore have hit it off well, but it's not going at the same rate with Brown.
Hurts is showing, though, that he wants to make it work and needs to make it work. He has not had the kind of speed that Brown has really ever had in Philly. Quez Watkins might be the closest, but he is not at the same caliber as Brown.
It's been clear since training camp began that Brown's stock has gone straight down. Darius Cooper and Wicks have been Hurts' favorite targets, and really the only receiver Hurts is struggling with at the moment is Brown.

There's still a little less than a month until the NFL season starts, and Brown should make the roster, but something has to change with him and Hurts. They are trying to make it work, but it is getting scary how off-balance they are with each other.
