When it comes to the success of the Philadelphia Eagles this season, a few familiar faces receive a bulk of the public credit. Guys like Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and Jalen Carter are often mentioned as the main catalysts of the team and while true, there are also a plethora of unheralded players who are central to success for Philly.

Jalen Hurts gives credit to some of his Eagles teammates who don't get enough credit

During media night ahead of Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, Hurts did his best to acknowledge some of his teammates who don't get enough credit in his eyes. His list included safety Sydney Brown, offensive lineman Tyler Steen, linebacker Oren Burks and running backs Kenny Gainwell and Will Shipley. All of those guys have played important roles throughout the season, but don't receive recognition on a national level.

"I can name a whole bunch of guys who do a lot of dirty work and maybe don't get the recognition," Hurts said. "Sydney Brown, Tyler Steen, OB [Oren Burks] stepping in for Nakobe Dean. ... Kenny Gainwell, Will Shipley stepped in and made a big-time play last week and ran the hell out of the ball. That's' what I got."

Perhaps more than any other professional sport, football is a team game, so it's nice to hear a star quarterback give credit to some of the guys who make things happen but maybe don't get much attention from fans or media. Hurts is an excellent leader, and empowering such players with his words is just another example of his strong leadership.

Plus, the Eagles will need those guys to continue to make plays if they're going to bring home the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. Burks will start in the Super Bowl in place of Dean, as he has been throughout the postseason, while the rest of the players named by Hurts will be expected to be prepared to step up when their number is called, just as they have all season.

Hurts' words could work to give those guys some added confidence heading into the Big Game. Who knows, maybe one of them will be the guy to make a game-changing play in the Super Bowl to tilt things in Philadelphia's favor.
