Jason Kelce bluntly calls out Eagles' offensive line for one critical reason

He's not the first to say it.

There are a lot of problems with the Philadelphia Eagles' offense, but the offensive line has been one that fans have noticed as the biggest disappointment of the 2025 season.

Former Eagle and SportsRadio 94 WIP radio host Seth Joyner called out Philly's offensive line for not fighting enough in the team's 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 13. Another Eagles legend, Jason Kelce, did not agree with that assessment, but did add something he has noticed with the offensive line.

"I don't think so. I think that these guys are very motivated to play well. I think when everything is clicking, and everyone is confident into where they're going and what's happening, you end up playing more aggressive. To me, again, we talked about it a little early in the show, I do see times where guys are going to the same player. I do see times where everyone's not locked into the communication and what's happening, and I think that causes indecision, which causes people to not be as aggressive."

Kelce added that part of the line not being as aggressive is the line being banged up and having to change the lineup multiple times this season. The cohesiveness and chemistry aren't there like in previous years, according to Kelce.

Eagles' offensive line not showing any confidence or aggression

It's been shown all season with the mountain of issues the Eagles' offensive line has faced. The biggest reason is that injuries to players like Lane Johnson, Landon Dickerson, and Cam Jurgens have not helped this unit work well together.

That has impacted the running game, which has seen a significant dip from 2024 to this season. Last year, the Eagles ran for 179.3 yards per game, but this season they are at only 108.5 yards per game.

Even when injured players like Dickerson and Jurgens have played, it's clear they are not 100% because they are not playing at the same level they did last year. Right guard Tyler Steen has not been as consistent as Mekhi Becton was at the position in 2024, which has also caused some issues for the line.

It's fair to pin some of the blame for the offense's struggles on the offensive line not playing as well. They have to try to survive the next few weeks without Johnson before getting the crew back together for a playoff run.
