The NFL stands for 'National Football League'. You all know that. You're probably also aware that, over time, many have played with the acronym. Philadelphia Eagles fans know better than anyone that this can sometimes be the 'No Fun League'.

We never would have imagined in a million years that we'd have a reason to bring up Jerry Glanville, but we're reminded of his 'Not for Long' theory. Once upon a time, while the head coach of the Houston Oilers, he was admonishing NFL back judge Jim Daopoulos for making what he believed to be bad calls.

Thanks to NFL Films, his quote, "This isn't college. You're not at a homecoming. This is N-F-L, which stands for 'not for long' when you make them (expletive) calls.

People have complained about Jalen Hurts' recent performances. Some have wondered if injuries have finally caught up to Joe Burrow, but the 'Not For Long' thing seemingly has no bearing or either of their careers. Jalen and Joe are signed through 2029 and 2030 respectively after each signed massive extensions.

They both have played in a Super Bowl. Both lost. Both hope to get back. They meet this Sunday for Week 8's Eagles vs. Bengals clash. It appears Joe is appreciative an Eagles legend won't be making the trip.

Joe Burrow gives Fletcher Cox a massive compliment.

Fletcher Cox... Now, there's a guy who has a ton of great memories after leaving his mark on the 'No Fun League'. During a dozen NFL seasons, he notched a 2018 First-Team All-Pro Award. He was named Second-team All-Pro three times (2014, 2015, 2017), and he was voted onto six Pro Bowl rosters (2015-2020).

Fletch is a Super Bowl champion and a NFL 2010s All-Decade Team Member. All of that explains why Joe Burrow is happy he isn't playing in Week 8's contest.

Philly has a tough task ahead of them in Week 8. The Bengals are a worthy opponent. Joe Burrow is an elite quarterback.

Now that we mention it. We wonder what Fletch is doing this weekend and if he's got one more game in him. If not, the task of rattling Joe Burrow and Cincinnati's offense falls in the hands of Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and the rest of the Eagles' defense.

Here's a nugget. Joe and Vic Fangio tussled in 2021, the year the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl. That game produced the lowest point total of Cincinnati's season, but it would be Burrow and company who'd earn the victory.
