Jordan Davis is off to a hot start this year and ended the Eagles' Week 3 with a huge exclamation point.
The 2022 Eagles ' first-round pick blocked a field goal, followed by a "scoop and score" for his first career touchdown as a professional (Davis had a rushing touchdown in college). That play helped secure a 33-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams after being down by 19 points in the third quarter.
The stat that made Davis' blocked field goal even more impressive
While the 61-yard field goal block return was impressive, Davis set a record according to Next Gen Stats. Davis recorded a speed of 18.59 mph on the return, the fastest speed by a player over 330 pounds since at least 2017.

After the block, when being interviewed by NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Davis stated, “I ain’t run that fast since my 40." For context, Davis ran a 4.78 at 341 pounds during the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
Davis came into the 2025 season massively overhauling his training regime. Davis claimed to have lost 26 pounds, currently weighing in at about 330 pounds, going into his fourth NFL season. The Georgia alum has had his fifth-year option on his contract exercised and is currently playing the best football of his career.
In addition to his field goal block returned for a touchdown, Davis put together another solid performance with a five-tackle, one sack outing. Currently, Davis has recorded 16 tackles and one sack, putting him on pace to eclipse his totals from the previous three seasons. Davis' block not only sealed the victory for Philadelphia but also allowed the Eagles to remain undefeated going into Week 4 of the 2025 season.
