Some may still believe the Philadelphia Eagles are the most dangerous team in the NFC. In a season where it's hard to pinpoint exactly who the Super Bowl favorite is, heading into the postseason, the Eagles still hold the crown of being the defending Super Bowl champions.
So, by default, they're still a top contender so long as they get in, right?
At this point, I don't think it matters one way or another how this Eagles season ends. And, to be frank, it isn't far-fetched to say that the Eagles will not repeat. So, knowing they are going to fall short (and also knowing exactly why that'll happen), why not look ahead to the biggest change this franchise needs to make?
The following are actual, real words spoken by offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo in his most recent time with the media:
"I mean, there's a couple plays where we were just running it to run it."
This was in response to a reporter mentioning the fact that, at some points during the Eagles' last contest, it appeared as though they were running it into "unfavorable" looks.
Kevin Patullo just confirmed his inevitable Eagles fate in the most hilarious way ever
For all of the intelligent offensive minds across the NFL, it is truly remarkable that the defending Super Bowl champions have a guy who answers a question like that.
Throughout this season, Eagles fans have been screaming at their televisions time and again as they watch a complete and total inept play-caller dig this team into holes. And now, he's dug his own grave.
There is absolutely zero chance Patullo has a job in Philadelphia next season. It cannot happen. Every Eagles fan knows it, and at this point, even Nick Sirianni has to understand it. We are just too far into a season where the Eagles are still a winning team, so firing Patullo at this stage would be too much of a distraction.
Although, it might be beneficial, but we're not even going to entertain that thought.
But for Howie Roseman and Sirianni, comments like these should cement his eventual fate. The fact that Patullo is going just to run certain plays for the heck of it, regardless of what defensive looks they're seeing, is mind-boggling.

The Eagles aren't winning a championship this year, and when they are ultimately bounced, we all know why and can circle back to moments like these.
