Philadelphia Eagles fans had to see their top offensive lineman, Lane Johnson, leave the game with a foot injury in the 16-9 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 11. Apparently, that injury is much worse than expected.
Multiple reporters shared that Johnson suffered a Lisfranc sprain in his foot. While there is no timetable for his return, there is a possibility that he will make a trip to the IR, which could mean he is out for four to six weeks.
When Johnson has been healthy on the field, he's been one of the best in the NFL, as he has allowed zero sacks going into the Lions game. The problem is that he has been hurt in multiple games this season, including the Los Angeles Rams and the Green Bay Packers game.
Eagles face major issue on the offensive line without Johnson
If there is a silver lining to the situation, Johnson has been banged up all season and could use the time off to get healthy and prepare for a potential postseason run. It has felt like every other game; Johnson has seen himself go into the blue medical tent at some point.
The problem is that this Eagles offense is struggling mightily, and looks even worse when Johnson doesn't play. Philly loves to run the ball on the outside, going to the right, so that adjustments will be made there. Johnson also helped hide the fact that Tyler Steen has been inconsistent on the right side of the line.
Replacing Johnson will most likely be Fred Johnson, who was the hero who filled in for Lane Johnson in the win over the Rams back in Week 3. While Fred Johnson has become a fan favorite, he doesn't possess the skill set Lane Johnson has, which makes it even more of a nightmare for the Eagles.

Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo will be tested like never before to try to make this offense work without one of the best offensive linemen in the last 10-15 years. How Patullo handles this determines his status with the fan base.
