This year's Philadelphia Eagles defense has been a whole lot different than last season's. Thanks to some changes made adding much-needed personnel to the starting unit and new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, the Eagles have been the best in the league, overall.

Some might argue otherwise, but they would be wrong.

Philadelphia's defense has been playing on another level, as evidenced by their ridiculous plus-27 turnover margin since the bye week. On all three levels, this defense has been as good as anybody in football.

And, just before taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, Philadelphia's defense appears to be getting a fan favorite back from injury.

Sound the alarm.

Veteran defensive end Brandon Graham is officially being designated to return from injury.

Longtime fan favorite and Eagles legend Brandon Graham has the chance to go out on top

After suffering a triceps injury more than two months ago, Graham's potential return was still up in the air as of a couple days ago. But, he did tell the media that he "felt good" and that this upper body injury was "easier" than the others he's dealt with during his extensive career.

Graham has, of course, spent his entire career with the Eagles dating back to when he was drafted in the first round back in 2010. He very well could end up retiring after the 2024 season, and now, coming back to help this Eagles defense win a title would be the perfect way to go out.

More Eagles news:

Graham joins a line that's been led by second-year pro Jalen Carter, who has completely ravaged opposing offensive linemen all season. But, what Carter has done during the playoffs has been the stuff of legends.

Maybe, Graham's return could help Carter break an NFL postseason record currently held by Aaron Donald.

One thing we do know? Graham's return is going to give this team even more of a lift going into a game where their defense knows they won't be able to completely stop Patrick Mahomes. But, creating turnovers and stopping everybody else around Mahomes will be the key.

Graham's motivation to possibly go out on top as a Super Bowl champion, once again, will come up big in this game.

Don't forget, we're talking about the hero who effectively handed the Eagles their last championship by forcing a Tom Brady fumble.

Eagles. Legend.
