Longtime Eagles nuisance joins NFC East rival ahead of NFL Trade Deadline

An occasional thorn in the Eagles' side joins an NFC East rival, so we'll be seeing him around more often.

They say football is a business. Typically, everyone is referencing contracts or disgruntled players when they do so. Here, we make that statement for another reason. One of the Philadelphia Eagles has added one of the better cover guys to their wheelhouse, and frankly, we aren't fans of his.

Nothing personal... Strictly business...

The NFL's Trade Deadline nears at the time of this story's release. Washington Commanders have made a move. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Kellen Moore and company have someone else to talk about.

The Commanders trade for Marshon Lattimore.

Whenever we see Marshon Lattimore, the same thought goes through our minds. We keep replaying that memory of Nick Foles' final pass as an Eagle slipping through Alshon Jeffery's hands.

You remember, don't you? Marshon picked off that pass off. There we were, watching Alshon lying face down. That robbed the then-defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles from making a second consecutive trip to the NFC Championship Game.

Philly has played the New Orleans Saints with Lattimore in the lineup six times including the previously mentioned playoff game. The Birds have lost three of those games. Marshon has 23 tackles in those games along with four interceptions, seven pass breakups, a defensive TD.

We did mention we're sick of this guy, right? Again, we don't have anything personal against him... It's only business.

They most recently saw him during Week 3's trip to New Orleans. They'll see him twice more now this season. Philly plays the Commanders in Weeks 11 and 16.

The Eagles' rivals are loading up. The Dallas Cowboys traded for WR Jonathan Mingo. Washington answered by upgrading its secondary.

That means Jalen Hurts can't be casual with the football when tossing it in Lattimore's direction. He's one of pro football's great playmakers on defense.
