There is no fan base like Philadelphia sports fans, who are utterly passionate about their teams, including the 76ers, Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles.

One of the leading voices for Philly sports for decades has been the perfect sounds coming from the mouth of Eagles radio play-by-play broadcaster Merrill Reese. FanSided named Philadelphia the Fandom of the Year, and Reese shared some beautiful words about the city and why it is the best sports town with the best fans.

"There are sports town and then there is Philadelphia. This city, our city has a heartbeat you can heartbeat you can hear from Broad Street to the Ben Franklin bridge. You can feel it in the cold of a December tailgate at the Linc, in the echo of a Bryce Harper moonshot at Citizens Bank Park, in the roar of the rafters at Sixers and Flyers games. I've been honored to call thousands of those moments for this city, but the one constant, the one thing that never wavers is you the fans. The grit, the passion, the loyalty that's passed down like a family heirloom. Generation after generation stands, boos, cheers, and believes with everything you've got. You are the late nights with Tom McCarthy and Scott Franzke in the summer, the soaring joy of Marc Zumoff's "yes," the elegance in Ray Didinger's words. All of this means so much and now the sports world has taken notice. They may not love how loud you are, but they respect the volume."

Reese covered everything that makes Philly and Eagles fans so great

That last part about how many may not like how loud Philly fans are, but respect the volume, is perfect. Eagles fans have been accused of being too hostile towards the team and being loud about it, but it's because there is a different standard to this city that fans expect from their team.

The Eagles have won two Super Bowls since 2018, so the new standard is winning at all costs. Fans of the team know when they are playing well and when there is improvement needed. The only way things get heard is if they're vocal about it.

One of the significant differences between the Eagles fans and the rest of the fan bases is that the team hears everything and listens. The organization knows how the fans are feeling and always keeps their opinions in mind because Eagles fans know more about football than the average fan.
