Draft week certainly got off to a fiery start with the unsurprising news that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is likely to be traded to the New England Patriots after June 1, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Eagles fans have known for a while that Brown was most likely going to get traded to the Patriots, so the news is not surprising. Another update from Brown, shortly after the news, is just as unsurprising to Eagles fans.

NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that Brown is not expected to attend the Eagles' offseason program as he waits to hear what his future with the franchise looks like. The Eagles' offseason program just started, but it is not mandatory for the time being; players don't have to be there until June 1.

A.J. Brown will not be at Eagles' offseason program to start

It honestly doesn't make sense for Brown to be there if he is already one foot out the door with the latest trade rumors. He is better off not creating any headlines or drama by being there, so starting away from the facility makes sense.

There is so much being discussed this offseason regarding a potential trade involving Brown, as the Eagles wait to hear what will happen. The Eagles should wait until at least June 2 to do something with Brown, as the team will save about $7 million against the cap and have significantly less dead cap to deal with.

Eagles fans can no longer question whether a trade will happen, as it seems inevitable that it will occur. The real questions are when the trade will be official and what Philly will get out of the deal.
