Completely out of nowhere, the Philadelphia Eagles no longer will be facing off against Myles Garrett when the Los Angeles Rams come to town in Week 4.
Garrett had a rough debut with the Rams in their Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, resulting in zeros across the board in tackles, pressures, and sacks. After the game, he mentioned that he was not 100% going into the contest.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that Garrett is going to have arthroscopic surgery on his knee and will be placed on IR. That means he will not be available for the Rams when they play the Eagles in three weeks.

The Eagles were going to gameplan around slowing down Garrett since he is coming off a season where he broke the NFL record for sacks in a season and won Defensive Player of the Year. That is no longer the case.
Philly's offense can now shift the focus to making sure Aaron Donald doesn't dominate them from the defensive line. That means that guys like Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, and Landon Dickerson will have more pressure to make sure they get it done.
This will help the offensive line, as they can double -team Donald on the line and make sure he doesn't beat them. The tackles won't need as much help for the Eagles, as Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson will be able to handle the Rams' edge rushers by themselves.
It also helps Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion with his play calling. With Garrett out, expect more runs on the outside in 12 personnel. The Eagles will avoid the middle of the line as much as possible and have Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby attack the edges.
While the Eagles would love to face the Rams at full strength, that would be a big advantage for the team. They will have an easier time facing off against Los Angeles and making sure they don't get beaten on the edges. Instead, the focus shifts inside to Donald.

A few weeks remain before the Eagles and Rams face off, but Philly gets some help for that upcoming game. It'll be interesting to see if the Eagles can take advantage of the situation.
