New Hall of Fame exhibit serves up a slice of Heaven for Eagles fans

It's time to plan a trip to Canton. Period...

This can't be our life! Three Super Bowl appearances by the Philadelphia Eagles have come in eight years, and our beloved Birds have won two. We aren't complaining, but one could argue they should be 3-0. Super Bowl 52 ended a championship drought that had lasted since 1960.

Seven years later, they raised another Lombardi Trophy. That one felt more like a coronation than a competition. Here we sit, almost three months after one of the best nights of our lives, and this all still feels surreal... And, the hits keep on coming...

Let's talk about what they're doing in Canton, Ohio.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame to add an Eagles exhibit honoring their Super Bowl champions

Established on September 7, 1963, 61 years ago, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is home to legends and memories. Recently, we've seen the inclusion of several beloved Eagles who, if we're being honest, should have been inducted long before they were: Dick Vermeil, Eric Allen, and Harold Carmichael.

Brian Dawkins was a second-ballot induction, and even that sounds disrespectful. The Hall will earn an opportunity to right its wrongs, though. In the coming years, we'll no doubt see a run on Eagles as guys like Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, and Jason Peters all become eligible.

If you're looking for a reason to plan a trip to Canton, however, you needn't wait. There's plenty to keep you entertained. Not only can you check out the busts of former Eagles legends, we've learned a new exhibit is opening.

According to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's website, "A new display within the Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery at the Pro Football Hall of Fame features the Super Bowl LIX champion Philadelphia Eagles". That exhibit also "recognizes previous NFL titles the organization earned on the field."

Before defeating the Kansas City Chiefs by a 40-22 margin in Super Bowl 59, the Eagles won Super Bowl 52 in February of 2018, and even though their other three titles precede the Super Bowl era, they deserve equal praise.

The Hall's new exhibit will feature their 1948, 1949, and 1960 NFL Championships.

Philly's first two Super Bowls were won vs. the best coaches of their generation, Andy Reid and Bill Belichick. They are the only NFL franchise to beat Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers in a postseason game. Yep, those sound like reasons to plan a trip to Canton.

We don't know what Heaven looks like. Hopefully, we won't learn for quite some time, but the Pro Football Hall of Fame has certainly created a Garden of Eden in its hallowed halls.
