It just wouldn't be a typical week in the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles season without the offense barely scraping by in a game.
The Eagles' offense was bad in their 13-12 win over the Buffalo Bills, totaling 190 yards. They only got 16 yards on 18 plays in the second half, leaving the defense to once again do all the dirty work to get the victory.
After the game, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was asked about the offensive struggles in the Bills game. As per usual, Sirianni pinned it all on himself.
“We’ve got to do some different things there," Sirianni said via NBC's John Clark. "I should have done a better job.”
Sirianni is only partially right as he needs to start speaking the truth about Eagles' offense
The reality is that yes, part of the blame lies with Sirianni. This offense continues to look bad through four months, with no consistent signs of improvement, but it isn't all on the head coach.
More fingers have to be pointed at what offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo is going to do. Patullo's first three plays in the game with a downpour of rain in Buffalo were three straight passes. Common sense says that running the ball has to happen on early downs.
It wasn't raining for the beginning part of the second half, so the Eagles decided to run the ball on early downs and didn't have success, despite an opening to throw the ball down the field. Patullo can't ever get into a rhythm with his play calling, and it continues to hurt the Eagles' offense in the worst way.

Eagles fans have to face the fact that this offense is broken and won't get fixed before the playoffs, since it hasn't happened yet. The real question is whether the defense will be strong enough to hold on and help carry this team to the Super Bowl, because Patullo and Sirianni can't figure it out when they have top players like Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith.
