The NFL trade deadline is rapidly approaching, and while Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is happy with the roster as currently constructed, he also knows that general manager Howie Roseman is always looking for ways to improve the team. Will that result in a trade, or two, prior to the Nov. 5 deadline? We'll have to wait and see.

Sirianni is happy with the roster, but knows Howie Roseman is always looking to improve

"I love the team that we have," Sirianni said of Philadelphia's roster. "And I think this team is really coming together. With that being said, I know we're always looking for ways to improve our team. I know Howie is the best at that -- of always, always, always, looking at ways he can improve the football team.

"I admire that and value that of how he goes to work there. But like I said, love the guys that we have. I think we're coming together really nicely as a team. But we'll see how this next week plays out."

You can't blame Sirianni for feeling good about the Eagles right now. They've won three straight games coming out of their bye week, and they're starting to resemble the talented team that they were expected to be -- on both sides of the ball. The Eagles are currently one of just two teams in the top 10 in both offense and defense, along with the Houston Texans.

If the Eagles are going to be active prior to the deadline, it will be as buyers as opposed to sellers. After all, this is a team sitting at 5-2 with a real chance to make a playoff push. There isn't necessarily a glaring area of need for the Eagles, but they could probably use some added depth on defense, specifically in the secondary and at linebacker. The team could also probably use another wide receiver, as Jahan Dotson has been a complete non-factor.

Considering the fact that the NFC appears to be pretty wide-open, it wouldn't be surprising at all if Roseman went out and made a move to try to put the Eagles over the top. After all, Philadelphia has consistently been aggressive in the name of improvement, and there's no reason to think that approach will change now.

Philly will host Jacksonville in Week 9, with the trade deadline scheduled for Nov. 5. It will certainly be interesting to see if the team looks any different after that date.
