Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni offered praise for Kevin Patullo, the Eagles' offensive coordinator, during the team's media availability on Wednesday. Sirianni stated that Patullo is equipped to handle outside scrutiny from fans and media pundits alike.

"He has thick skin, and you have to have thick skin. ... We know there's going to be criticism because we know what we signed up for, and I think Kevin has a great mindset for it. He always has."

Despite early struggles, Sirianni supports Patullo running Eagles' offense

Patullo and Sirianni go back to their days in Indianapolis, where Patullo was the Colts' wide receivers coach (2018-2019) and pass game specialist (2020). When Sirianni came over from the Colts, Patullo served as the pass game coordinator (2021-2022), was promoted to associate head coach (2023-2024), and is now the Eagles' offensive coordinator, following the departure of Kellen Moore.

Sirianni has seen the highs of the Eagles coordinator position (Shane Steichen and Kellen Moore) and the lows (Brian Johnson). For years, Patullo has worked in the shadows, remaining unknown to fans and the media alike; now he's in front of the media weekly, being cast into the spotlight, whether for good or bad.

Patullo's familiarity with the Philadelphia fan base and lofty expectations should be nothing new. He's been in the "building" since 2021, seeing all aspects of the success and shortcomings, along with the repercussions of being in a position of power in the Eagles franchise. Recently, the team has underwhelmed offensively, but overall, it has continued to produce wins after wins, now going on eight games in a row (dating back to 2024).

Regardless of the wins, the Eagles' offense hasn't been up to par; in fact, they rank at the bottom of the league. They rank 29th in total offense, 31st in passing offense (Jalen Hurts hasn't thrown a touchdown pass), and are 16th in points per game. While the Eagles haven't been dynamic through the air, Saquon Barkley and the rushing attack have propelled the Eagles to seventh.

The Eagles are slated to take on the Rams this week, who own the seventh-ranked offense in the NFL. With that being said, the expectation is that this week's matchup may turn into a shootout, putting Patullo in the hot seat if he can't deliver. The Eagles and Rams are slated to kick off at 1:00 pm ET at Lincoln Financial Field, with both teams sitting at 2-0.
